Cotton candy is synonymous with my childhood. The days when life was easier and happiness was found in the little of things.  How I came upon this old love is what I am about to narrate today as well as talk about some newfound loves. I was walking along Camac Street yesterday after a good Sunday brunch with my best friend when I spotted the cotton candy seller. I just couldn’t resist having it because cotton candies are hard to come across these days. Seeing my happy face, my best friend bought decided to buy me one and I totally felt like a little kid. Baby blue and cotton candy may be one of the favourite posts I will ever pen down this year.

Having bought me the cotton candy we walked along a quiet lane lined with pretty houses where the photographs were brought to life. All that you see in the photograph is everything I am loving at the moment. From pastel colours, to shift dresses and of course bougainvilleas. If you follow my Instagram, you may already know how crazy I am about bougainvillea. I was so excited, the cotton candy having been added to the list. The last time I was this excited was when I was in Mumbai at the Miniso store from where I picked the blue bag. The Miniso stores feel like wonderland for adults where you can get lost for hours. Every single thing I laid my eyes upon, I wanted to bring home with me.

The same however, cannot be said about the dress. I was at the trial room line at H&M when one of my friends picked up this dress for me. My friends always complain that I do not wear enough colours. They wouldn’t let me pick any light colours or even black so they picked this up for me. I love the dress, it is easy to wear, the fabric is comfortable and as I am head over heels for everything pastel right now, it is just the icing on the cake (I really do wish I could have a chocolate cake right now).

I still identify myself as a minimalist. But now I am easing into getting out of my comfort zone of wearing only black, white and grey.  Adding neutrals, pastels or a pop of colour makes me realize how much I am loving my evolving sense of style and colour. I am still the person who would pick subtle colours over loud ones. Yet still have a fun outfit.  Learning to love things I would easily ignore in the past and experimenting is changing my own perceptions. I am loving the new person I am becoming. Life seems more beautiful as each little moment passes by. With pastel blue dress and cotton candy, I am also finally officiating my spring look.
