For someone who has struggled with clothes for the most part of her early life, I now prefer those that don’t just fit right or are stylish but comfortable too. Being uncomfortable in an outfit is one of the worst ways to be. There are innumerable instances when I have found myself tugging at my top to pull it down or find a tight dress riding up the back or the jeans pulled down when I sit. Through these fails the one thing that I learnt was what to buy and what not to. When I am tempted to buy something that I know would make me uncomfortable I don’t get it at all. Abstinence is hard but well worth both my time and wardrobe failures. And for a self proclaimed minimalist like me it also means less clutter.

When it comes to comfort the one fabric that I love is cotton. Living in the tropics, it is but natural to wear more cotton and jersey than anything else through the humid summer months that persist almost half the year and almost pressing upon us again. But there are others like linen, jersey and Khadi which I find are fit too for summer. I am on the quest to find more such pieces that serve my taste and fit. Getting the right fit, colour and fabric is everything that I look for when I buy clothes. Over the past years I have given away more clothes than I have bought. And even though my wardrobe is nothing that I wish it would be, I am rather glad that its clutter free and I have no qualms regarding repeating outfits.

When I chanced upon this top, I knew I found something that would be a great addition to my summer wardrobe. Given that I have a weakness for all things denim and prefer cotton in summer, this cotton denim top as the description on the site went was all that I had been asking for. I didn’t think twice before pairing the top with the black treggings and the t-strap platform. I do prefer flats over heels which again brings in the idea of comfort. Its not that I do not wear pencil heels but I always find myself reaching for my flats more. And with the latest designs the flats are no less trendy than heels. Therefore this stands as the most comfortable outfit combination in my wardrobe that I look forward to repeat in the coming months.
